ThermaSAVE Advantages

All test data that ThermaSAVE has conducted on our building system was submitted to the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) which issued ThermaSAVE ICBO approval number PFC. 4645. This has now been changed to International Code Council (ICC). Our ICC report number is 2406. ThermaSAVE structural building panels are approved as an integrated pre-engineered system for foundations, floors, walls (exterior and interior), ceilings and roofs.

Earthquakes have no effect on ThermaSAVE panels unless the ground opens thus affecting the building.

ThermaSAVE building panels have an unbelievable strength due to the stressed-skin technology used in their manufacturing. They can be used to construct foundation or basement walls even below grade; floors spanning up to 18 feet between supports, load-bearing walls up to four stories. Roof panels can span up to 24 feet! ThermaSAVE panels are certified by the International Code Council (ICC).

Standard installed panels will withstand over 110mph winds and are easily upgraded to withstand 200mph winds. In addition, ThermaSAVE passed the highest zone hurricane and tornado testing in the State of Florida.

ThermaSAVE does not require sheetrock, which is a favorite food for mold and mildew. Cement Board is primed at the factory thus it is moisture and mold resistant and will not decay. Plastic 2 bys can be used thus eliminating wood and the formaldehyde. Most homes also are not properly ventilated. ThermaSAVE buildings are tight, with an air to air exchanger, it has superior indoor air quality.

ThermaSAVE uses expanded polystyrene foam; it is solid core for the panel, thus no air for fire. It is fire retardant with a flash point between 600 and 650 degrees Fahrenheit as opposed to Douglas fir, which has a flash point of 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

In an average 1,500 SF home, you would normally use a 3-4 ton unit for your heating and cooling system. In the ThermaSAVE panel home, you would use a 1.5-2 ton unit, saving approximately 50% in the purchase of a heating/cooling unit. ThermaSAVE can produce any thickness of insulated panel to achieve the desired “R” rating.

Fiberglass insulation, by law, has a cancer warning on every roll. ThermaSAVE uses expanded polystyrene foam, which does not affect the Ozone. It does not lose its R-value over the years as do other foams and fiberglass and it is not affected by water.

Panels are manufactured with exterior and interior skins as specified by clients. All cuts of roof angles, doors, windows and corners are completed in the ThermaSAVE factories if customer orders, requiring less time and labor on site.
